Pakistan

Security forces killed a senior Taliban commander in North Waziristan and 10 fighters in Arakzai. Four Taliban fighters and a soldier were killed in a clash in Dir. Punjab has banned 23 terror groups. The US will send a delegation to Pakistan to convince the government to strike at al Qaeda.






Iraq

Security forces killed two suicide bombers in Mosul, and detained eight wanted men near Kirkuk, and five al Qaeda fighters and a foreign fighter facilitator in Mosul, Tarmiyah, and Abu Ghraib. Insurgents killed a civilian in Mosul.


Somalia

Two Shabaab fighters and six Hizbul Islam fighters were killed during infighting in Mogadishu. Fifteen people were killed in fighting between government forces and Shabaab in the capital. African nations pledged to send an additional 2,000 troops to Somalia.




Afghanistan

The Taliban killed four ISAF soldiers in clashes in the east, west, and south, and wounded three civilians in a suicide attack in Herat. Security forces killed two Taliban fighters and detained three Taliban commanders and 12 fighters during raids in Badakhshan, Ghor, Logar, and Helmand. Iran

Several countries in Europe have stopped fueling Iranian airlines due to sanctions. BP issued an order to its suppliers in Europe to halt the refueling of Iranian airlines. The commander of Iran’s Ground Forces said the military’s missiles can “can target any invader.” The oil minister said two new gas fields have been discovered.







Algeria

Three gendarmes were killed in a remotely detonated IED attack at a checkpoint in Ziama-Mansouriah near Jijel in eastern Algeria. Two Algerian civilians were killed and two more were injured by a roadside bomb near Tebessa.




Pakistan

Security forces killed 12 Taliban fighters in Arakzai and detained 12 terror suspects in Lahore and five “Afghan militants” in Bajaur. The Taliban killed two people in an IED attack in Kohat and wounded 12 more in a suicide attack in Dir.
