The Islamic Emirate of the Caucasus confirmed that Anzor Astemirov, a senior military commander who is known as Amir Sayfullah, was killed by Russian security forces in the city of Nalchik in Kabardino-Balkaria on March 24. Sayfullah’s death was confirmed in a martyrdom statement released on the al Qaeda-linked Ansar Forum.
