Iran

China agreed to make steps toward supporting new sanctions on Iran. Tehran sent its chief nuclear negotiator to Beijing to discuss the threat of new sanctions. The US navy reportedly test-fired Trident missiles in a military exercise with the Saudi military; the US Navy denied the report.


Russia

Two men were killed and another was seriously wounded after their car exploded in the Khasavyurt region of Dagestan. The men are suspected to have been transporting bombs. The FSB launched a counterterrorism operation in Ingushetia.


Kashmir

Five Lashkar-e-Taiba fighters and three Indian soldiers were killed during two clashes in forests in Rajouri. Soldiers and counterterrorism police have been carrying out operations in the region.
