Iraq

Prime Minister Maliki’s State of Law Alliance has taken the early vote lead in Baghdad, Basrah, Babil, Najaf, Karbala, and Muthanna, while Iyad Allawi’s Iraqiya party leads in Ninewa, Diyala, Anbar, and Salahadin, and has a slim lead in Kirkuk over the Kurdish party. The Iraqi National Alliance only leads in Maysan and Diwaniyah. The final results will not be announced until the end of March.
