Russia’s Federal Security Service killed Mokhmad Mohamad Shabban (AKA Saif Islam) and an associate during a raid in a mountainous region in the Republic of Dagestan. Shabban was one of the original founders of al Qaeda in the Caucasus and is said to be the mastermind of recent attacks in the region.
