President Karzai canceled a meeting with the Organization of Islamic Conference on reconciliation with the Taliban. The Taliban killed two US soldiers in an IED attack in southern Afghanistan. Coalition and Afghan forces detained a Taliban facilitator and an undisclosed number of Taliban and Haqqani Network fighters in Helmand, Kandahar, Khost, and Wardak provinces.
