Five civilians were killed in fighting in Mogadishu. Shabaab killed a clan leader and a civilian in Afgoye. Somali’s sports minister died of wounds suffered in a suicide attack in December 2009. Shabaab called for jihad against the Somali governemnt and African Union forces.
