Coalition and Afghan forces killed seven Taliban fighters in Helmand and a suicide bomber in Zabul, and detained an undisclosed number of Taliban and Haqqani Network fighters in Kandahar and Khost. The Taliban killed two US soldiers in separate clashes in southern and western Afghanistan.
