The US will deploy an additional 30,000 troops; Poland has pledged an additional 600 troops. Afghan and US forces killed six Taliban fighters in Kunar and detained several more in Kandahar. The Taliban killed four policemen in an IED attack in Helmand and one US soldier in the South.
