Afghanistan

The Taliban killed 11 civilians in an IED attack in Helmand; eight policemen during an attack on a checkpoint in Kandahar; four civilians, including three children, in a mortar attack on a market in Kapisa; and a woman and a child in a bombing at a clinic in Herat. Coalition and Afghan troops detained “several” Taliban fighters in Nangarhar and two more in Uruzgan. The government will form an anti-corruption force.
