Security forces killed seven Taliban fighters and detained 17 more in Swat, and detained 12 fighters in Kohat and Hangu. Taliban fighters killed a soldier as they ambushed an Army convoy traveling along the Karakoram Highway in Kohistan. Mehsud tribal elders asked the government to end the military operation in South Waziristan. A tribal lashkar has been raised to fight the Taliban in Swat.
