Government forces took control of two police stations in northern and southern Mogadishu after battling Hizbul Islam and Shabaab. Ten Somalis were reported killed in the fighting. Somali troops moved into the town of Beledweyne. Gunmen kidnapped a TV director outside of Mogadishu.
