The Taliban said the Malakand Accord is all but dead as the government rushed the establishment of Islamic courts. The Taliban beheaded two government officials in Swat, wounded two soldiers in an IED attack in Landi Kotal, murdered a “US spy” in North Waziristan, and overran and destroyed a police station in Shangla. The military said Buner has been secured.
