A gunfight broke out after anti-corruption police backed by Iraqi troops attempted to detain senior officials in the Trade ministry, including the trade minister. Security forces detained 29 wanted men in Basrah, 10 al Qaeda fighters in Diyala and eight more in Fallujah, and a “dangerous wanted person” in Amarah. Two policemen were wounded in an IED attack in Kirkuk.
