Police arrested Maulana Sheikh Abdus Salam, a founder of the Harkat-ul-Jihad al Islami and the leader of the Islamic Democratic Party, for links to a bombing in 2001 that killed five people. The Rapid Action Battalion raided the Green Crescent Madrassa; two Islamist fighters were detained and a large cache of weapons and explosives was found.
