British troops killed a Taliban leader and overran a headquarters in Helmand province. Six Afghan security guards were killed in an IED attack in Helmand. US troops closed a combat outpost in Kunar province. The US and Uzbekistan are close to a inking a deal that would open a new supply route for its troops in Afghanistan.
