Afghan and Coalition forces killed 39 Taliban fighters and a Taliban commander during fighting two districts in Helmand province. Five more Taliban fighters were killed during operations in Helmand late last week. Coalition forces killed one insurgent and detained 16 more during operations targeting Hizb-e-Islami Gulbuddin (HIG) and Taliban commanders in Kabul and Zabul provinces.

Eight policemen were killed and 10 more were wounded in a bombing west of Baghdad. Gunmen murdered seven Yazidis in Sinjar. A female suicide bomber killed one Iraqi in Tarmiyah. Coalition forces killed three al Qaeda operatives and captured 13 in raids nationwide. Iraqi forces captured 11 al Qaeda fighters in Diyala province.

The Pakistani government has taken action against the Al Amin Trust, a front group that provides financial support to al Qaeda and the Taliban. Security forces raided and closed 24 offices and seized bank accounts, but no arrests were made. The Al Amin Trust is the new name for the Al Rasheed Trust.

Taliban destroy NATO trucks, supplies in Peshawar
The third Taliban attack in 24 hours destroyed 11 trucks and 13 containers laden with supplies bound for NATO forces in Afghanistan. Frontier Constabulary will not secure terminals.
