More than 280 Palestinians are estimated to have been killed since Israel targeted Hamas security stations and infrastructure in the Gaza Strip. Israel bombed more than 40 Palestinian smuggling tunnels linking Gaza to Egypt. Two Katyusha rockets were among 40 launched from Gaza; the Katyushas landed near the Israeli city of Ashod. Israel has activated more than 6,500 reservists.
