President Karzai said he would offer Mullah Omar and other Taliban leaders protection if they return to Afghanistan for peace negotiation. Coalition forces killed 30 Taliban fighters in the Nahr Surkh district of Helmand province. One British soldier was killed in an IED attack in the Musa Qala district of Helmand.
