Justice Department attorneys filed an emergency motion with a federal court in an effort to block the release of 17 Uighurs currently detention at Guantanamo Bay into the United States. A judge ruled the al Qaeda-linked operatives from the East Turkestan Islamic Movement were no threat to the US and said they should be released in into the Washington, DC area.
