Iraqi forces detained 180 suspects in a sweep in Basrah, 22 insurgents in Baghdad, and five al Qaeda fighters in Diyala. Coalition forces detained four Hezbollah Brigades fighters in Abd ar Rahman and seven al Qaeda operatives in central and northern Iraq. Four Iraqi police recruits were murdered in Mosul. An Iraqi court convicted one man for the brutal murder of three US soldiers.
