A suicide bomber killed 48 and wounded more than 100 in an attack on a tribal meeting in Arakzai. The Taliban beheaded four tribal leaders in Bajaur, kidnapped a politician and bombed two girls’ schools in Swat, and bombed a politician’s home in Dir. Security forces killed 23 Taliban fighters in Bajaur.
