Iraqi Special Operations Forces killed one Special Groups fighter and captured eight during operations in central Iraq. US troops captured two Special Groups fighters in Baghdad and detained two more in Al Kut. Iraqi troops captured eight al Qaeda fighters in northern Iraq and detained 14 insurgents in Baghdad. A suicide bomber killed two civilians and wounded 17 at a soccer match in Tal Afar. Two police were killed in Mosul and one was killed near Haditha. A cleric loyal to Muqtada al Sadr was gunned down in Basrah.
