Afghanistan’s foreign minister denied negotiations were underway with the Taliban based out of Quetta. A senior female police officer in Kandahar was assassinated outside of her home. Two al Qaeda fighters were killed in a battle in Kunar province; police said three civilians were killed. Two Canadian soldiers were wounded in an attack on a combat outpost in Kandahar.
