An explosion destroyed a home owned by Khyber’s Haji Namdar; eight people have been reported killed. Residents in Khyber are flying the flag of Lashkar-e-Islam as the military conducts operations in the tribal agency. A Peshawar police chief said an operation against the Taliban would be launched in parts of the city. The leader of the Jamaat-e-Islam said there is no Taliban threat to Peshawar or within Pakistan.
