Prime Minister Gilani warned Afghanistan not to interfere inside the tribal areas after President Karzai threatened to attack the Taliban inside Pakistan. The Pakistani Taliban threatened to boost attacks inside Afghanistan. General McNeill, the outgoing US commander in Afghanistan, questioned the effectiveness and loyalty of Pakistani troops. The government inserted requirements for the Taliban to stop cross-border raids and eject al Qaeda into the current draft of a peace agreement in South Waziristan. The Taiban killed five Pakistanis in a land mine blast in Peshawar.
