Afghanistan

Afghan officials said 49 Taliban fighters were killed and 35 wounded during a massed Taliban attack on a police checkpoint in the Murghab district in Badghis province; ISAF put the number at 10 killed. Four Canadian soldiers and an interpreter were wounded in two IED attacks in Kandahar.
