Nine Iraqis, including five policemen, were killed and 46 were wounded in a suicide attack on a police station in Mosul. Coalition forces killed two al Qaeda operatives and detained 31 during raids in central and northern Iraq. Police detained 18 Mahdi Army fighters in Basrah and six more in Diwaniyah. The spiritual leader of the Soldiers of Heaven was captured in central Basrah.
