Coalition forces killed five al Qaeda operatives and detained 13 during raids in the North. Iraqi Army and police forces arrested 12 “wanted men” and seized a bomb factory in Basrah and found a large cache in Karbala. Five “wanted men” were captured north of Al Kut, and a man behind sectarian killings was captured in Karbala. One Iraqi soldier was killed and five civilians were wounded in an attack in the Rusafa district in Baghdad.
