An explosion ripped apart a car carrying a district police chief in Chechnya on Friday and gunmen then shot at the burning vehicle, killing Police chief Shamil Kutsayev. Five other policemen were injured in the ambush. A court in the Russian capital ordered the closure of an Internet site Friday that carried news from the volatile southern province of Ingushetia.
