A car bombing killed 42 Iraqis and wounded 85 in an attack in a Shia neighborhood in northern Baghdad. A district cheif of police was killed in an IED attack in Wasit province. Coalition forces captured three Special Groups operatives in Al Kut while police seized a carload of Iranian-made weapons. US soldiers captured four Special Groups operatives in the Rashid district in Baghdad. The parliament banned contact with the Mujahadeen-e-Khalq.
