One ISAF soldier died of wounds and four others were wounded by an IED explosion during a routine patrol in eastern Afghanistan. Two Taliban suicide bombers dressed in Army fatigues and traveling in a vehicle attempted to attack a US outpost in Khost but were both shot dead by US and Afghan guards. Two US soldiers suffered injuries during the brief clash. A failed suicide bombing against a police truck in Helmand left one civilian dead and seven others injured.
