Two Afghan police were killed after their vehicle was blown up by a remote-controlled bomb in the southern town of Spin Boldak. Canadian officials have called on President Karzai to remove Assadullah Khalid from the governor’s post in Kandahar province. A Coalition operation in Khost province netted five insurgents including Mohammad Ghanam, a Haqqani network commander and suicide-bomb facilitator.
