Yemen

Local sources report a residential compound for foreign oil workers was targeted by mortars in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a. Al Qaeda operatives launched three mortars at the US Embassy in Sana’a in March that landed in a school yard, injuring several students. After a week of riots in South Yemen, two protesters were killed today by security forces in Abyan, and 15 died after renewed fighting in the war in the northern Sa’ada province between Zaidi rebels and a pro-government tribal paramilitary.
