Afghan Army and police units “inflicted significant insurgent losses” in a battle against Taliban forces during a cordon and search operation in the Kendal and Shok villages in Nuristan Province. Police captured Taliban commander Abdul Jabar in Kandahar while NATO and Afghan forces killed 15 Taliban fighters during clashes throughout Afghanistan.
