Top al Qaeda in Yemen leader Qasim al Raimi openly attended a funeral in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, this week. Al Raimi escaped from jail in 2006 and was later blamed for two deadly attacks on tourists. Lax security measures were also applied to FBI Most Wanted, American Jaber Elbaneh who was granted bail during his appeal of a 10-year sentence in March. Convicted USS Cole bomber Jamal al Badawi was put under house arrest after his October 2007 surrender to Yemeni President Saleh. It is unclear if al Badawi is currently incarcerated.
