The CENTCOM commander said he did not expect a Taliban spring offensive, but NATO would instead launch one. Afghan and Coalition forces confirmed a Taliban leader was killed in Ghazni province on Feb. 25. “Several” Taliban were killed during an operation in Gershk district in Helmand province. Afghan protesters burned Danish and Dutch flags in protest of the Mohammed cartoons and a soon-to-be released film criticizing Islam.
