Three Muslims were killed by Muslim insurgents in drive-by shootings and two soldiers were wounded in an IED attack in Yala province. A village leader in Narathiwat province was killed by Muslim insurgents and his former assistant injured. Almost 60 percent of the insurgent-caused deaths in the South occurred on the roadways.
