Two civilians were killed in attacks in Bajaur agency. Police detained three teachers and a Taliban commander in Swat. A Mehsud tribal jirga demanded an end to the military operation in South Waziristan. The military is searching the mountains of South Waziristan for Baitullah Mehsud, a military spokesman said, while two soldiers were killed in rocket attacks. An unconfirmed report said Baitullah was dismissed as Pakistani Taliban leader by Mullah Omar.
