President Musharraf said the West should recognize the Taliban and attempt to change them from within. Two Taliban were killed and one captured during a suicide attack on a military checkpoint in Mohmand. Eight suicide bombers were arrested in Sargodha and Mianwali. The interior minister said all politicians are under threat of assassination and the government would provide protection.
