General David McKiernan has been named the new commander of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force. The US will deploy 500 MRAPs to Afghanistan. A Taliban leader and four fighters were captured in Zabul province. The Taliban claimed it shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle in central Afghanistan.
