India

Two bombings in Hyderabad killed at least 42 and wounded 50. The blasts, which were just five minutes apart, occurred at an auditorium and a restaurant. Harkat-ul-Jihad-i-Islami (HUJI) operative Mohammed Abdul Sahed is suspected of being behind the blasts. HUJI is a Pakistani-based terror group which operations in Jammu and Kashmir, and India.

Seven Muslim insurgents and one policeman were killed during fighting in Mogadishu on Friday. A bombing that targeted two policemen purchasing khat wounded two civilians. Two delegates of the reconciliation congress were wounded in a grenade attack, while two Ethiopian soldiers were wounded in a string of grenade attacks.

Israeli troops killed a leader of Islamic Jihad in the West Bank and two aides, and killed two Hamas operatives while while stopping a terror attack and infiltration from Gaza. Khaled Mashaal, Hamas’ leader, said captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit was alive and in good condition.


Thailand

Police arrested a leading suspect in the Muslim insurgency in Yala province. One civilian was killed and 10 were wounded in a bombing of a grocery store in Pattani province, while a school principal was killed in an ambush. About 200 Muslims gathered to demand the release of eight insurgent suspects.
