Furugi Indama, an Abu Sayyaf commander believed to have been killed in a raid on August 18, is still alive according to military intelligence. Armed Forces Chief of Staff Hermogenes Esperon expects the military forces operating in Basilan and Sulu to show “substantial positive results”over the next two months.
Berader was killed in an airstrike in the Musa Qala district of Helmand province. He was a member of Taliban Shura Majlis and close confidant of Taliban leader Mullah Omar, as well as the operational commander in souther Afghanistan.

Police have released a sketch of one of the Hyderabad bombers. Shahid Bilal, the mastermind of the Hyderabad bombings, is wanted in connection to a 2005 shooting of a professor. The Hyderabad police commissioner said sleeper cells exist inside the city.
US analysts see Sadr move aimed at Mahdi Army rogues
Muqtada al Sadr denies any role in the fighting in Karbala which resulted in at least 50 killed and 300 wounded. Sadr ordered his Mahdi Army to stop all attacks in Iraq, including those against Coalition forces.
