Yemen

Yemen sentenced 32 al Qaeda fighter to 2-15 years in jail for “forming an armed gang aimed at carrying out sabotage attacks.” The men were also behind the attacks on the Safer refinery and the al Dhabba terminal. Four were acquitted.



Afghanistan

Both the Taliban and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar’s Hizb-e-Islami denied conducting the suicide attack in the northern province of Baghlan. Some in Afghanistan believe the attack was a political assassination. US Navy and French warplanes have replaced the F-15s grounded in Afghanistan due to an unknown structural problem.
