Fatah stormed the parliament in the West Bank, banned the organization and has been attacking Hamas schools, charities, and television and radio stations.

A suicide car bomber killed 5 and wounded 4 during an attack on a convoy outside Kabul. Two local Taliban commanders were confirmed killed during operations in Ghazni and Zabul provinces. Rumors persist that Taliban military commander Jalaluddin Haqqani died; the latest report said in the UAE.

Hezbollah

Hezbollah surrounded then detained a Lebanese police patrol for “entering a Hezbollah security zone.” The incident occurred in southern Beirut. “The Lebanese policemen were disarmed in the vicinity of Bir El Abed and taken to a Hezbollah interrogation center. The police were later released.

Indonesia

Indonesian police state it captured a previously unidentified member of Jemaah Islamiyah named Zarkasih, who is in fact the emir of JI. “Zarkasih went by several aliases and underwent military training in Afghanistan in the late 80s.” He was arrested last week along with Abu Dujana and six other senior terrorists.


Thailand

Muslim insurgents killed 7 soldiers and wounded 1 in an IED attack in Yala province. “They were the security team for local teachers,” said the local police commander. A school in Yala was burned down.


Lebanon

Four soldiers were killed and 6 wounded in an IED attack in the Nahr al-Bared Palestinian camp. The Army seized a large cache of explosives in the camp. The funeral for the murdered anti-Syrian member of parliament turned into an anti-Syria rally.

Hamas is now in control of the Gaza Strip, and has begun looting Fatah offices and military equipment. Hamas has pledged amnesty for Fatah fighters. President Abbas appointed Salam Fayyad as Prime Minister after dissolving the Hamas led government yesterday.


Pakistan

The US Assistant Secretary was told Mullah Omar is not in Balochistan. Taliban commander Mullah Nazir warned the Waziri tribes not to shelter Uzbeks. Two music shops in Peshawar were torched. Ten were killed, including 8 members of the security forces, in an attack in Quetta.


Afghanistan

A suicide bomber killed 10, including a Dutch soldier and 4 Afghan children, in an attack on a NATO convoy in Uruzgan. An unconfirmed report indicated senior Taliban commander Jalaluddin Haqqani died of Hepatitis. Afghanistan’s defense minister denied Iran is arming the Taliban. France will send 150 trainers for the Afghan Army.

Three men were found murdered in Narathiwat; one was beheaded. Two IED attacks, one outside a school, killed two soldiers in Pattani. Thirteen schools were burned down in Yala and Pattani.


Palestinian Territories

President Abbas dissolved the Hamas led parliament and declared a state of emergency. Hamas overran the Fatah run Preventive Security headquarters, and executed men in front of their families; 15 were killed and 80 wounded in the battle. The town of Rafah also fell to Hamas. Fatah arrested 36 Hamas in the West Bank.
