10 killed, 20 held after weekend raids on terror operations in Iraq

One Palestinian was killed and 15 wounded after Hamas fired on civilians attempting to flee the Gaza Strip at the Erez crossing into Israel. The US is restarting direct aid to President Abbas’ government in the West Bank.


Lebanon

Three Lebanese soldiers were killed during fighting at the Nahr al-Bared Palestinain camp. Two members of Jund al Sham were killed and 3 wounded in an explosion at the Ein El Helweh Palestinain camp.

Abu Dujana, the recently captured military commander of Jemaah Islamiyah, admitted Abu Bakar Bashir was the leader of the terror group from 2000 to 2002. Bashir, who denied being involved with JI, was arrested in 2002 for his role in the Bali bombing, and served an 18 month prison term for immigration offences.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for bombing a bus in Kabul that killed at least 35, including police. It is unknown if this was a suicide bombing.
