The military is targeting Taliban positions in the Kabal region in Swat. Two South Waziristan tribes are pulling support from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other JUI-F politicians. At least 30 were killed in sectarian fighting in Kurram agency. The army will help the police secure polling sites.
