A suicide bomber killed 12 and wounded dozens in an attack in Kabul. ISAF confirmed it killed Taliban senior commander Mullah Ikhalas in a strike in the Musa Qala district of Helmand province. ISAF forces killed “several” Taliban fighters during operations against foreign fighter and weapons facilitation networks in Helmand. The US and Afghan governments pledged to expand the Afghan Army and provide more equipment.
