US forces killed 23 Taliban fighters and captured 11 while disrupting a weapons transfer in the Garmsir district in Helmand province. Ten Taliban fighters were killed in the Zari district of Kandahar. Up to nine police may have been killed in a Taliban attack in the western province of Ghor. The Afghan denfense minister said the US will speed up the transfer of weapons for the army.
