The 1920s Revolution Brigades captured 60 al Qaeda fighters in Diyala while five al Qaeda operatives, including three emirs, were killed in Khalis. Coalition forces captured 16 al Qaeda operatives in central and northern Iraq. Iraqi Security Forces killed seven al Qaeda fighters and captured four in Samarra, and captured 14 in Baghdad. Over 340 Karabal police were fired. A Sadrist leader was detained in Diwaniyah.
